Why do you need SSS?

SSS is a mandatory insurance program by the Philippine government. Anyone working in the private sector or earn income in general are required to be acquire an SSS membership.

The main role of SSS is to provide funding for any disabilities that you may have, funeral benefits, and most of all, a retirement pension.

Your contribution is dependent on the amount of income you earn. Normally, people only give the bare minimum, but you can also opt for a higher contribution.

The more you contribute, the bigger your pension. That’s the gist of it anyway.

Get your SSS membership early

It’s recommended that you get it as soon as you can before you get hired for work. Most SSS offices are only open during work days, so you won’t have time when you get hired as you will probably be working on weekdays.

This is why having a SSS online application will make processing fast as you can get it the next day immediately.

Fortunately, there are some branches that are open during Saturdays.

Aside from SSS, you will also need PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and TIN as part of work requirements. This depends whether or not the HR of the company will take care of the process.
